It's so strange to type in my blog address and see my ticker that indicates I'm '39 weeks 3 days pregnant. Only 4 days to go'. If only that were a guarantee! :)
We had our 39 week appointment today, and I had a feeling it wouldn't be an exciting one - and I was right! However, at this point, not exciting indicates healthy so I'll take it! Weight - up 29 pounds to date. Blood pressure - still great and normal at 120 over 59. Baby D - awesome and normal heartbeat. Then we proceed to the check - and zero progress from last week. So the let down begins! Oh well - again, she indicated it wasn't really a surprise and that this is the case for most first time moms. It certainly doesn't mean that things can't change just as quickly. She said she'll see us back in a week (if no baby before then) and to call if contractions progress to 5-1-1 (5 minutes apart, 1 minute long, continuously for 1 hour). We are also still set for an induction date of December 4th if he decides he's too comfy in there to join us beforehand. So, the definite countdown begins. We will have a baby in 12 days or less!
Thanksgiving is in 3 days, so we'll see if we will be enjoying lunch and dinner with our families or if we will be in the hospital having a baby! I'm remaining fairly calm and talking myself out of being overly anxious. I'm really nervous to give birth, but - it is going to happen whether I like it or not so there's no sense in getting too worked up. I'm trusting in myself and baby and that we both will know what to do when the time comes. Wish us luck!
