It's been 3 1/2 weeks since my last appointment, and it feels like an absolute eternity. I feel fine and continue to barely have any classic 'symptoms' of pregnancy. I can't help but let this worry me, shouldn't there be something going on? I know I should feel lucky, but I won't feel relief again until our next appointment. Let's just hope my doc can find that heartbeat on the doopler....and if she can't? I will probably beg her to send me straight for an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay, if she doesn't send me herself.
Wednesday, May 4th is our next appointment, after which we will schedule the NT scan (we have decided to get this done, and I have even decided I would move forward with more testing, should it be necessary....fingers crossed we won't have to!). After the NT scan, we should be ready to let everyone in on the big secret. I can't wait!

Baby news this week; he/she is about the size of a kumquat. A little over an inch long, crown to rump and weighs in at less than a whopping quarter of an ounce. Baby is now swallowing fluids and kicking up a storm, although obviously I can't feel any of that. It will be interesting to see the baby bouncing around at the next sonogram! Vital organs — including the kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function. Tiny nails even begin forming on the no longer webbed hands and feet! Limbs can now bend, hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his/her heart. It's hard to believe all this can be going on when I'm not even showing!
In other news, Happy Birthday to my dad, who celebrated a milestone birthday yesterday (don't worry Pop, I won't divulge which milestone it was!) and Happy Wedding Day to Prince William and Catherine Middleton. My lucky sister is over in London celebrating with the masses. I can't wait to watch it tonight (I was not willing to get up at 4 a.m. considering how tired I am!), on my couch, with my Campisi's take and bake pizza and my husband....who is just so thrilled to watch it...note sarcasm. Have a great weekend!
