6 Months Old! June 4th, 2012
It's definitely becoming more of a challenge to snap his photo these days...he's just so curious!
We had such a wonderful weekend together. Rob and I took a well deserved day off to spend time with our sweetheart on his half birthday. We went to get family pictures done Monday morning at the Arboretum...and I think they're going to be awesome! It was HOT, but successful. We hung around and walked the beautiful grounds, went to have lunch, and came home to relax. I can't think of a better way to spend a day off!
Ronan continues to amaze us each day. He's laughing more, eating more solid foods, sitting up like he's always known how to do so, and is as curious as can be! He is just so very much fun (and let's face it - he's gorgeous!). He's still doing really well at daycare and is even moving to the "big kid" side of the infant room for the 6+ month to 1 yr old babies. Ronan and I are still trucking along with the breastfeeding. I'm so, so proud to have made it to the recommended 6 months. This part of motherhood proved to be a lot harder than I anticipated, but Ronan has still never had a drop of formula so I'm really happy & proud. I'm still going the full year until he can have cow's milk, at which point I will nurse him in the morning and evenings if he wishes...but that pump will be retired!! Wahoooo! It has been more than worth it, but my body has not been my own for well over a year now...time to have it back for a little while! Halfway there!
Ronan is just beautiful, as evidenced by his photographs! His sweet, soft hair has grown so much since birth and is (surprisingly) quite golden brown! His eyes are a beautiful blue grey color and when he's in his Daddy's arms, I can see they have the same color eyes. I've read that at 6 months if their eye color hasn't changed yet, it's unlikely to do so; looks like I have myself a gorgeous, blue eyed, chin dimpled baby boy! I'm in trouble when he's a teenager!
At 6 Months Old, Ronan likes:
- Sitting up
-Enjoying solid foods (oatmeal cereal, avocado, banana, green beans, sweet potatoes & pears so far)
- His giggle friend (a stuffed animal....err, stuffed smiley face that giggles)
- Kicking
- Pulling Mommy's glasses (rather violently) off her face and laughing!
- His jumperoo
- Baths
- Sticking everything in his mouth, including his feet!
- Books
- Being the cutest baby on earth (okay, Mommy threw that one in there!)
Next Monday is his 6 month checkup. I'm not looking forward to yet another (his third) round of shots. He didn't take them very well at his 4 month appointment, but I am excited to hear what the doctor has to say and what we can do/try next. I'm assuming she will suggest practicing with a sippy cup, she'll probably give us a list of more foods we can start trying (proteins, yogurt, etc.) and tell us what milestones are up next (even though I have read and already know what to expect anyway...hehe). Time to get this house baby proofed!
Ronan's first time in his "big boy" bathtub!
Happy Half Birthday, sweet baby...complete with a HALF birthday cake!
Ronan cleaned up!
A celebration fit for the best baby in the world!
Blow out the candles!
What's this, Mommy?
Fun!
I made a mess!
All tuckered out after a long, fun day
