Well, I am late with this post as per usual, but in my defense we moved just 4 days before Ronan's half birthday. Things have been nuts to say the least! Thanks to my mom, we aren't homeless and on the streets right now as we wait 5 more days to move into our new home. We weren't able to move in right away due to a little work we are having done on the new place. So Ronan has been having a BLAST living with him Mimi, and I mean can you blame him?? He has a whole extra person to love on him every day of the week. Now instead of saying 'Mama" and 'Dada' every morning, we also hear 'Mimi'! I think he will be disappointed when he's back to living with just Mom and Dad. :)
Ah, my baby is getting so big! I look at his sweet little face on the front of my blog page - that is one of my most favorite pictures of Ronan and is still my lock screen picture on my phone. It was exactly a year ago this month. He was so tiny, sweet, innocent and huggable/kissable. He is still all of those things today and more - just on a larger scale. These days when I hold him, his legs dangle down past my hips. I am amazed at how big he is - not to mention smart. It's incredible to watch, really. He learns something new everyday and we get to witness that. He's one amazing little thing, that's for sure.
Ro's vocabulary has blossomed in the past month - he seems to learn something new, word wise, everyday! And he obviously understands more and more everyday. He has also learned to test his limits, and our pediatrician has told us - it's time to start time outs! Not when he's having a tantrum - but when he is being defiant. So, we've done that a few times in the last week or so. Ro Ro is NOT impressed with time outs. We generally have to hold him to stay in time out and it consists of no eye contact and he must face the wall for about 30-60 seconds. He screams and cries the whole time. It's so sad!!Yet also so dramatic that it's hard not to giggle from time to time. My poor baby. I hate having to discipline him - but I know it's just a necessary part of life. I certainly don't want him becoming a self centered, entitled adult due to lack of discipline as a child! The only thing that he does that really warrants a time out right now is his insistence on standing on his anywhere chair or the sofa. We repeatedly tell him no but yet he does it over and over! All while staring at us - with that testing look in his eyes, haha.
Ro is growing beautifully, and continues to stay on the same path curve as he always has. I do think his weight is a bit off here - he was wearing all his clothes and heavy shoes, plus poor guy hadn't been to the bathroom in a week. He was backed up - literally! So I believe his weight has maintained in the 50-55% range where he has always been.

All Gone
Up Up (he follows me around screaming 'up' and crying wanting me to hold him - which always seems to be when I am busy doing something in the kitchen!)

More
Nack (snack)

His favorite word still seems to be "truck" - he still says it about a thousand times a day, BUT it seems to be down from his previous two thousand times a day so I'm happy to report he says more than truck, lol. He does, however, call everything with wheels a truck even though he knows very well they might not be a truck. We know because he will point to all types of motor vehicles in his picture book when we ask him where they are!
This month we celebrated Rob's 2nd Father's Day by spending the day as a family in Ft. Worth, hitting up a couple of our favorite restaurants and also checking out a local brewery. The tour consisted of live music, a food truck out back, and 3 beers along with a glass to keep - all for $10. It was a lot of fun, family friendly, and something we would love to do again. Next stop was the Ft. Worth Zoo where Ronan had the most fun riding the carousel for the very first time and also the train at the zoo. He was kicking and screaming when that train ride was over - so much so that we had a lot of people staring. Ha! One of my first real times to be "that" mom with the screaming child.
Here are a few pictures from the last month - my monthly number shots are on my camera card so I will have to upload them later - but you still get the gist of Ronan from this month!
