We have a tooth!

Let the record show that Ronan's 1st official tooth is the lower right central incisor and it arrived sometime on 5/15/2012!

No wonder our poor sweetie has been drooling and puking so much lately. G-ma D definitely called the  teething this past weekend when we went to Oklahoma City! I was sure we probably wouldn't see one for another month or so, just because I read they can teethe for quite some time before you actually see one and we just recently started to see a huge increase in the drool....which in turn increased the puke! YUCK. Anyway, I figured we had some time since on average infants receive their first tooth around 7 months old. No such luck! However, I am happy to say he wasn't in too much pain. He was very fussy Tuesday night though, after the tooth had already broken through. For about an hour he was pretty much inconsolable; we tried nursing, teething rings, rocking, and swinging to no avail, so we finally gave in to the Tylenol. Poor baby. It worked though, shortly thereafter he was asleep, and even slept the whole night without waking in pain. By Wednesday morning, he was good as new. Now if we can just get through the rest of his teeth that easily!

When Ronan and I arrived home from his school on Tuesday afternoon, I took him out of his carseat and was swinging him in my arms and singing to get him to laugh (another adorable skill Ronan has been doing more and more in the past few days). It worked. He opened his mouth wide with a smile and a squeal and I saw that pearly white, just barely poking through, back at me! I was sooo excited for him. It felt like such an accomplishment. Here is my little baby, growing teeth. I stood out back in the driveway holding Ronan, all giddy and waiting for Rob to pull up to make the announcement to him; I was so excited. I can only imagine how I will feel when he does things like crawl or walk. I'll be a mess!

Tuesday is bath day, so I got a quick video where you should be able to see his brand new milestone. Enjoy!
