I asked about the baby being transverse and when we would need to worry if he's not head down. She said at 36 weeks she can usually tell by feeling my belly what position the baby is in, and if not they will check by sonogram. I just hope she's willing to wait until delivery day to give him time to flip....I really don't want to have a scheduled c-section; I'd rather let this little guy decide what he wants to do up until I go into labor. He flips and moves so much at this point that I cannot even tell what position he's in anymore. He must be getting ansy or uncomfortable with the lack of space, because he is constantly fidgeting and finding new spots in there to hang out. Please cross your fingers for me that he gets settled soon!

At 30 weeks, the baby should be about 16 inches long head to heel and almost three pounds (so who knows how much he actually weighs, since they guestimated him at 3 pounds over two weeks ago). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will now continue to decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in the uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, although it's not very keen. Obviously when he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for the majority of the day. And even when he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will only have 20/400 (!!) vision - which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.
His movements in the last week or so have really changed, and sometimes he truly hurts me....but it's okay, I'll forgive him. :) The rolling movements are getting really neat and alien-like and the coolest thing so far has been feeling his head right by my rib cage. It feels huge! I just like giving him a little pat and rub on the head. We like to think he can feel it and knows it's us just saying 'hi'.
This weekend, Rob and I are celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe that two years have passed since our beautiful wedding day on the beach in Mexico, and that we're about to start our own family! We'll keep it low key, of course, but still plan to enjoy a full day tomorrow of going to a couple different events and then to dinner. I'm looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
