Not too much going on in baby news, but the little bit of information is still exciting to me! One website indicates that his sense of movement is developed well enough now that if I were to dance to some music, he would be able to feel the movement. His little face is fully formed now, so one site says if I wanted to know what (and who) he looks like, I'd almost be able to tell right now....if I had a baby camera that is! What's still missing is all the baby fat that will pile under his skin. He won't be like that too much longer though, as babies at this stage of fetal development are gaining about 6 ounces a week - with much of that gain coming from fat, in addition to growing organs, bones and muscle.
As for Mama D, I'm doing great! Still feeling good, although I'm starting to have some trouble with everyday tasks. When I was at the gym yesterday, I've noticed it's getting harder to tie my shoes. I used to reach my leg out on the lockers to tie them, but the belly gets in the way now and it's super uncomfortable. It's also getting increasingly hard to roll over in bed at night, so I pretty much have to pick a position right when I get into bed and stick with it, otherwise I struggle big time. It's going to be hard to get used to the fact that I won't be able to do these types of things with ease. Pregnancy will definitely teach you to not take the little things for granted. Other than that, my lower back is starting to hurt more, which is to be expected. I can't even sit comfortably on the sofa for very long. The exhaustion is also creeping its way back in as well. Although I still have more energy than I did in the first trimester, I can tell it's on the decline. I am back to being ready for bed super early, and it's getting harder for me to get up in the morning. Oh, I know - just wait until the little guy is here, right? :)
We're taking a break from the nursery this weekend as we await the arrival of the most important part - the crib! (Thank you again to Baby D's extremely generous grandparents for that and the mattress!) I'm sooo excited and anxious to see it when it gets here. We did receive the crib mattress yesterday, another big essential checked off the list. While the room is in limbo, we're off to have some fun! Lunch and bowling with our good friends tomorrow (who are expecting their first, a little girl - three weeks ahead of us!), and a birthday party for one of Rob's cousins on Sunday. And of course, I can't wait to sleep in a bit...may as well take advantage of that while we are still able. Hope everyone has a great weekend; and Gina - have a wonderful anniversary trip to Peru...I'm sure it's going to be amazing! Can't wait to see pictures.
