How Time Flies

I can't believe it's been nearly 3 years since I found out I was expecting my little Ronan! Time flies by just way too fast. I read through some of my first blog entries the other day and I was filled with the memories of how excited I was....it was one of the most thrilling times of my life. And it's only gotten better (albeit, more challenging, for sure! But better).

Ronan is full of energy and personality right now. And man, is he onery. A lot of things require somewhat of a fight thanks to this new found independence. Getting up in the morning...whew, he's almost like a teenager. Our conversations usually go like this:

Mom: Ronan, it's time to get up! Rise and shine!
Ronan: Lay down....papi lay down (as he plants his face into his pillow)

Or getting him to bed at night.

Mom: Ronan, it's time to go put on your pj's
Ronan: NO!!!
Mom: Yes
Ronan: NO!!!

After the pj fight is over, then when it's time to go to bed, we will tell him it's time to pick up his toys, and we get the "No!!!" again. ::sigh:: The joys of toddler hood.

For the most part though, he is really such a great, easy going kid. He is definitely a toddler of course, but that's all part of it. I love how he expresses himself, and I love how much his vocabulary is expanding. I don't have to do quite so much guess work to figure out what it is that he needs or wants. In fact, he is VERY good at saying "I need"....he wanted to watch Planes for the millionth time the other night, and said matter of factly: "I need to dance to Planes!". He loves to dance to the opening credits when the music comes on. It's too adorable for words. In fact, here is a video of it!

Ronan is into a lot more pretend play these days, which is too cute to watch. He loves to tuck his baby or stuffed animals in to "bed". Ah ha! In fact, I just so happen to have a video of this as well!

Ro has also been impressing us with his memorization skills - he will recite lines from Cars or Planes before they happen (not sure if this is a win or a fail!) and he also has a favorite band. Yes, that's right - a favorite band (Local Natives) and he will break out into one of their songs from time to time while playing....but he always sings in the car when their music is on. It's adorable!

I can't wait to see what he learns and does next!
