TWO YEARS OLD!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my ever so truly beautiful, sweet, loving, kind, perfect little boy, Ronan (Ro Ro, Ro, Ro-dog). He has been the absolute light of my life and has taught me how to love even more deeply than I have ever thought I could. Our world is a zillion times better with him in it. We love you, sweet boy! I count my lucky stars everyday that you came into our lives and that you are mine. It's an unbelievable feeling. Thank you for being YOU, Ronan Reid.

Ronan has really grown and changed the last few weeks, and I can tell he is about to hit the language explosion I keep hearing about in all my emails from the baby sites. He has done and said the cutest things just in the last week or two, including answering and asking a few questions! If you ask him what his name is, he will clearly say "Ronan!". He also asks questions and then finishes the question with your name. For example, Ronan and I went to the grocery store on Sunday and as I was waiting at the deli counter to get some lunch meant with what I'm guessing was a neutral look on my face. He looked at me with concern and said "Why you crying, Mama?". It was too cute for words. Of course, I wasn't crying so I'm not sure why he thought that! But you know, baby steps. :)

On Saturday morning, Rob ran out to get us a couple coffees and during that time, Ro decided to get up for the day. I got him up and dressed, and when he came into the living room and saw it was empty he said "Where Dada?". Again, so cute. He also asks if you are tired or hungry. Gah, I love it! He has also asked "What's this?" about a few things, so I know we are about to get hit with a LOT of questions, so we are trying to be prepared!

Ronan is also very observant and good about pointing things out. When we pull intoour alley, he says "horsies!", when we pull into the garage he will exclaim "we're home!", and will run around the house pointing things out. "Couch!", "Booster seat", "Apple", "Banana", "Car slippers", "Mama! Dada!" (said when he sees us in pictures), I could go on and on. There is no way I could even count how many words he knows at this point. It amazes me everyday!

He can also sing the entire ABC song, including the "now I know my ABC's...." at the end and will break into nursery rhymes and any random time. Songs he knows very well are "twinkle twinkle little star", "happy birthday to you", "itsy bitsy spider" and "ring around the rosie". Oh, and he can also clearly count to 15. I am so glad I have this blog to spit all this out, or there is no way I would remember these things!

I couldn't spend the day at work and not be with my baby on his birthday, so we have a fun filled day planned, including our annual Santa visit (we went when he was just 2 weeks old, then again last year on his birthday so we are keeping "tradition" by going again), then lunch, then home for a nap, then the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord. Looking forward to a fun day celebrating the little man in my life. Will post pics and updates later!
