Memories

I was searching through some old posts to show a coworker one of my 3D sonogram photos, at her request, and came across my blog update when I was 29 weeks into my pregnancy. I started to chuckle just skimming through it! I'm feeling very nostalgic, my pregnancy was such a wonderful time in my life. So, I decided to re-post these with updated info to see how things have changed or have resulted since Ronan was born. Enjoy!

How far along are you: 29 weeks
UPDATE: We now have a beautiful, nearly 5 month old perfect little boy

How big is baby: According to my weekly updates: 15 inches head to toe and just over 2 1/2 pounds. Of course, according to my last sonogram, Baby D is way ahead of this 'average' schedule.
UPDATE: Ronan is currently around 14 lbs and is over 26 inches long

How big is mom: Up 19 pounds. With 11 weeks to go and an average weight gain of a pound a week in the last trimester, I should meet that 30 pound or less goal.
UPDATE: Back down to pre-pregnancy size and wearing all my pre-pregnancy clothing. Still trying to find time during the week to get more workouts in....this belly still needs some toning.

Stretch marks: Not yet - please stay away!! :)
UPDATE: HA! Those stretch marks were hiding in my stretched out belly! I now have lots of them surrounding my belly button. They're fading, but also have their moments when they are very red. They are battle wounds that I will be forever proud to have.

Sleep: For this first time in the pregnancy, starting to get uncomfortable. I'm waking about every hour to hour and a half to go to the restroom and/or change positions. My hips are really starting to hurt while I sleep.
UPDATE: Sleep is wonderful these days. Ronan has been sleeping through the night (for the most part) since 8 weeks old and I no longer get up 4-5 times a night for a bathroom visit, plus it's VERY easy to turn over or get out of bed as compared to being big and pregnant.

How are you feeling physically: Still feeling really good, especially on the days I exercise. After a week on the iron supplements, I'm finally feeling a little surge of more energy which I'm hoping sticks around. I'm still tired, but not as tired as I had been the last couple weeks. My biggest complaint physically would have to be the backache.
UPDATE: Feeling great! Other than being tired a lot just because we never. stop. going. I think exercising a couple more days a week can hopefully cure some of that problem.

How are you feeling emotionally: I'm emotionally ready for the baby, but I need to work a bit more on being emotionally ready for labor and delivery. I'm frighteningly aware that it's just around the corner.
UPDATE: Well, the tough parts (labor, delivery, recovery and most of the PPD) have passed, so I'd say I'm doing really well. However, mama had a little breakdown last Friday night because my baby is growing so fast and I miss out on so many hours of being with him during the week. But I just cry a little, hug him tight, cover him in kisses, and then I feel better.

Best moment of the week: Not pregnancy related, but the fact that today is my husband's very last day of his current job, and he doesn't have to drive 72 miles each day of the week anymore! He will be only 4 miles from home for his new job, and I couldn't be happier for him! The current drive has been a high stress point for him that will now be relieved. He'll now have about 2 extra hours each day, which is huge! He's feeling better about the fact that he won't miss out as much once the little guy is here.
UPDATE: Every morning when I get to wake my sweetheart up for the day and every afternoon when I see his face light up when I walk in to daycare to pick him up.

Movement: Very controlled and noticeable from the outside. Beginning to be able to decipher body parts. I'm fairly certain he's gone back to the head down position because that head of his does not feel good on the bladder! Sometimes I get such a kick or punch in the right place that it's jolting. He's going to be a strong little boy.
UPDATE: Well, I just have to say that I hope I'm not feeling any movement anymore! In all seriousness, I had some phantom kicks for a couple weeks after he was born, and I still get a couple from time to time.

Cravings: Crazy for sweets, which I have never been in my life. Trying to not overindulge in this, because I do not want this baby to be a 9 pounder! :)
UPDATE: This was one update that made me laugh in particular, because not only did I have a 9 pounder; he was 9lbs 7oz! The sweet tooth stuck around, but I try not to indulge too much. Luckily, as a nursing mom, I get to eat about 500 more calories than I would if I wasn't nursing. Yum!

Labor signs: None, and it better stay that way for a while!
UPDATE: If there are labor signs nowadays, we definitely a problem.

Missing anything: Sleeping through the night, but I suppose I better get used to missing this. It won't get any better once he's here...
UPDATE: My baby! The countdown to the end of the work day is on!

Looking forward to: My friend's baby shower tomorrow, and our own baby shower(s) later in the month!
UPDATE: Nowadays I get to look forward to picking him up from school everyday during the week, and I especially appreciate and look forward to each weekend spent as a family. Besides those, which are constant, I'm looking forward to feeding him his first solid foods once he hits 5 months. I have a feeling he is going to love food.

Random thoughts: Constantly wondering what my little boy looks like
UPDATE: I can't imagine him looking any other way than he does....it feels like he was meant to be, and meant to look exaclty like, well....RONAN. :)
